I will stand at my guard postAnd station myself on the watchtower;And I will keep watch to see what He will say to me,And how I may reply when I am reprimanded.

Then the Lord answered me and said,“Write down the visionAnd inscribe it clearly on tablets,So that one who reads it may run.

For the vision is yet for the appointed time;It hurries toward the goal and it will not fail.Though it delays, wait for it;For it will certainly come, it will not delay long.

“Behold, as for the impudent one,His soul is not right within him;But the righteous one will live by his faith.

Furthermore, wine betrays an arrogant man,So that he does not achieve his objective.He enlarges his appetite like Sheol,And he is like death, never satisfied.He also gathers to himself all the nationsAnd collects to himself all the peoples.

“Will all of these not take up a song of ridicule against him,Even a saying and insinuations against himAnd say, ‘Woe to him who increases what is not his—For how long—And makes himself rich with debts!’

Will your creditors not rise up suddenly,And those who collect from you awaken?Indeed, you will become plunder for them.

내가 내 파수하는 곳에 서며 성루에 서리라 그가 내게 무엇이라 말씀하실는지 기다리고 바라보며 나의 질문에 대하여 어떻게 대답하실는지 보리라 하였더니

여호와께서 내게 대답하여 이르시되 너는 이 묵시를 기록하여 판에 명백히 새기되 달려가면서도 읽을 수 있게 하라

이 묵시는 정한 때가 있나니 그 종말이 속히 이르겠고 결코 거짓되지 아니하리라 비록 더딜지라도 기다리라 지체되지 않고 반드시 응하리라

보라 그의 마음은 교만하며 그 속에서 정직하지 못하나 의인은 그의 믿음으로 말미암아 살리라

그는 술을 즐기며 거짓되고 교만하여 가만히 있지 아니하고 스올처럼 자기의 욕심을 넓히며 또 그는 사망 같아서 족한 줄을 모르고 자기에게로 여러 나라를 모으며 여러 백성을 모으나니

그 무리가 다 속담으로 그를 평론하며 조롱하는 시로 그를 풍자하지 않겠느냐 곧 이르기를 화 있을진저 자기 소유 아닌 것을 모으는 자여 언제까지 이르겠느냐 볼모 잡은 것으로 무겁게 짐진 자여

너를 억누를 자들이 갑자기 일어나지 않겠느냐 너를 괴롭힐 자들이 깨어나지 않겠느냐 네가 그들에게 노략을 당하지 않겠느냐
